The Lake over the Water, Limitation. The superior man, in accordance with this, establishes measures and standards, and discusses virtue and conduct.

Not going out of the door and courtyard, no blame. — Knowing limitation from the start.

Nine second

Not leaving gate - misfortune.

Not going out of the door and courtyard, misfortune. — Excessive limitation is harmful; not going out when needed brings evil.

Six third

No regulation - sighing, no blame.

Unable to limit, one sighs, but no blame. — Lack of limitation leads to regret.

Six fourth

Peaceful regulation - success.

Content with limitation, success. — Following limits with ease.

Nine fifth

Sweet regulation - fortune. Advance rewarded.

Limiting with sweet moderation, good fortune. Going forward brings merit. — The best limitation is moderate and pleasant.

Six above

Bitter regulation - danger. Regret vanishes.

Harsh limitation, even perseverance brings danger. But knowing regret, danger vanishes. — Limitation must not be excessive.
